I am fascinated by the seemingly high probability that the Earth will soon be meaningfully and publicly visited by extraterrestrial species, or at least by three-dimensional drone entities capable of human communication. A credible explanation of the origin of he Universe, life, death, and possible after-life might be forthcoming. As the Earth’s hundreds of religions serve largely to shape and control human personal and interpersonal behaviors, it seems possible that a credible alternate understanding of the origin of life, faith in life’s creator, and the existence and direction of after-life could either almost completely and immediately end human interpersonal strife, or alternately throw the Earth into a cataclysmic decline. It would seem logical that if extraterrestrial visitors to the Earth, as could be expected, similarly worshipped an omnipotent God, church pews would immediately be overflowing. If the God worshipped by extraterrestrial visitors similarly rewarded with a positive afterlife only unconditional belief (even allowing forgiveness of “un-Godly” human acts), the ultimate purposes of the incredibly brief human life on Earth might finally be understandable.
